Sum of All Wisdom

Quotes...those little ideas written out in the form of a sentence of two that convey a bit of philosophy or wisdom.  Has anyone other than me noticed the PROLIFERATION of quotes. Who knew that great wisdom was so readily available?

Thought Number One:  Words of Wisdom

I was reading an article in the New York Times recently that the Quotes Catagory that was started in July on Pinterest has now garnered more than 10 per cent of Pinterest's total traffic. In the article, it went on to say that all these little inspirational items that we are picking up on the big three: Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest, are the modern day equivalent to philosophizing. It actually has a name: Pop Philosophy.

Cherylocrates stands among the great philosophers

So for today, Cheryocrates is going to send some profound philosophy your way.

Off to a good start, aren't I?    Are you awed and amazed at how profound I can be.

Turns out that Facebook and Cherylocrates make a great team.  Are you feeling  awash with wisdom?

Oh, so children's rhyming can be philosophical, huh?

Oopsie...seems some inspiration comes with four letter words. Which brings us to the next great tidbit of
"brain food" to feast upon.

I see that maybe Cherylocrates is spiraling down the drain in the quality of great philosophical thoughts.

Oh, wait, first I have you swearing and now I have you in jail.  This isn't going as well as I thought it would.

Thought Number Two: A Word to the Wise: Don't Quote Me On That

Oh no! Cherylocrates you got me into jail T.T I think this calls for a riotous mob to condemn you via hemlock for corrupting the youth. By the way I absolutely hate logging on facebook now because of the myriad of memes and aphorisms people post. My favorite "wisdom quote" people upload are the generic, "I'm proud to be a bitch and here's a passive aggressive remark about why I think you're annoying" types of memes. It's like really?!

Lia, the hemlock reference is really funny. I should use my cartoon self at some point poisoning either me or someone that is ticking me off with it.
I am a "fair weather" type of user on facebook. I look at it often enough but rarely have anything to say. I don't think anyone needs to know if I am at the Walmart or if I like Tide detergent. I occassionally have a good laugh at other people's posts and I like seeing what my relatives are up to but don't interact with FB from dawn to dusk.

Very cute! I wonder if I should give it more thought about what kind of society we are becoming if our philosophies are now based off of Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook...hmmm...that's a little too much thinking after a long busy day like today! LOL! Great post!

Have a wonderful week ahead! Click! :)

I agree...that Tupac quote is awesome. As I person (OH YEH, MEEEEE) that overthinks everything, I really need to post that on my refrigerator.

Thanks, Liggy! That's what I thought when I read the article...what kind of society are we becoming if we are claiming the little brain droppings on the Internet is the same as philosophy. Still there are a few here and there that is food for thought.

A philosopher friend once told me that "a generalist is someone who knows less and about more until he (she) knows absolutely everything about nothing. A specialist is someone who knows more and more about less and less until he (she) knows absolutely everything about nothing." In the end, we all end up, as Socrates says, stupid. C'est la vie. Fun post.

You have friends that are philosophers and friends that are funny. I have friends that are funny and know a lot about nothing. C'est la vie.
Thanks

Thanks for testing this. I know the problem lies with only the commentors signed on into Google. I don't like using FB to leave comments either. I will try to figure this out today.

Cheryocrates, I so love the pics and the commentary. I confess, I rather love the proliferation of quotes with a visual. Some times, when one does not know what to say to a person, a link to a quote covers it best. So, feel free to make up some yourself. I do love that first one!

Wendy, Consider yourself hugged. (hugged with an extra uhhh) I must be back in action on my comments. I am still fighting the fight for my posts to get emailed to my followers. This has been a frustrating couple of days on forums and phone calls to Google. (at this point, I look and feel shell shocked). Thanks for your help. I appreciate you...bunches.
