A Night At the Oscars

Normally, I don't post on Monday but Crabby Pants and I wanted to share our Oscar night pictures with you.  We decided to crash attend the festivities to cheer on our favorite category.  Prior to that nomination, which I will discuss in a sec, here are a few pictures of our fun night out on the town.
Here we are arriving...walking the red carpet.

For those that didn't watch...Kristen discussed her height with nearly every one she interviewed.

Blending into the scenery
Hope whoever these seats belong to, aren't coming back any time soon.
Saying our goodbyes

The real reason we attended was to see who won in the category of   *****drum roll, please******

Your post is more entertaining than the actual ceremony was!

I actually might have watched the Oscars if you were there. And look, you're the only person capable of making Tommy Lee Jones smile! That's a rare feat indeed.

Thanks, although I suppose one doesn't have to be very entertaining to top the entertainment value of award shows these days....or is that me being Crabby Pants. I managed to fast forward through the 3+ hours in record time.

Crabby was whispering perverted things into Tommy Lee's ear. Turns out the man is a freak.

I thought this short looked interesting when I saw it on the Oscars last night and now thanks to you I got to see it, and it was wonderful. I love the way it was drawn. Thanks for sharing it.

I always like the animated shorts..some years they have played them throughout the evening. This one was cute wasn't it??? Disney rarely fails though.

How fun....at 12:15AM .. Atlantic time, I couldn't keep my eyes open to see the final winners. Then again, the internet had all the recap...and I for one, could care less, what everyone was wearing....or how tall / short they were. Spoken from a 6ft 5 guy wearing a close out special....from a closed store...(smile)...loved the post

Thanks. Yes, I know about how you love to buy "clearance". Nothing on the Kodak stage was bought because it was a bargain.

I found this more fun then I would the real awards...............

Why thank you, Jo-Anne, I am so glad you enjoyed it.

This is great!! They should have an Oscar for the best blog on the Oscar!

Aren't you nice??? Seriously...if there were awards for comments that made bloggers feel happy...you would be getting one right now.

Was I the only one who didn't watch the Oscars?

And Kristen's voice is REALLY irritating. By the way, who is she?

Oh, I found you at my buddy, Powdered Toast Man's, blog. I'm a new follower. Fun post.

Cheers!

thanks for posting the "Paperman". It bothers me that we often don't get to the shorts. Not anybody's shorts (plenty of teens showing shorts) but the film shorts. Once I found a DVD of short films. Good stuff in shorts, I mean film shorts. Funny it just occurred to me that animated shorts have different meanings depending on the type.
Thanks, love paper airplanes.

I hated the Oscars this year. And it's usually my celebrity Super Bowl.

But YOUR comics = HILARIOUS

Also, Kristen is so boxted her face is frozen solid. Blech.

Cheryl P. said...

Hoped you enjoyed the movie. Did you see one of the Oscar nominated flicks. I have only seen a few of them so far.

I am glad you laugh at Crabby Pants. I sure have fun drawing her. More so than the other characters. Those animated shorts are very cute. I thought this one was great. The artist that did it was kicked out of the Oscar ceremony this year for throwing some paper airplanes from the balcony. I thought that was pretty funny as well. They let her back in after awhile, I heard because she had to receive her award.

Cheryl P. said...

Hi Brenda, Aren't those award shows just too long and boring to watch completely. I can hardly take some of the speeches. That was a cute animated short this year. I watch a couple of the others online and wasn't wowed by them.

Cheryl P. said...

Now that everyone TIVOs them, I suspect hardly anyone sees much of it. I watched it this year because the weather is crummy and I had nothing better to do.

I would have loved to have seen paper airplanes flying about :)

Robyn, so glad to have you come over. PTM is pretty clever, isn't he?

As for Kristen Chenowith (I probably am misspelling her name) she was first known for roles on Broadway especially Glinda in Wicked. She has the most awesome singing voice. I went to Wicked and was WOWWED. She later appeared on several TV series. She needs to stick to singing and acting and NOT INTERVIEWING. I agree..her voice was annoying and that constant comparing her height to others. UGH.

BTW ..do you have a blog?

Cheryl P. said...

I agree about loving shorts..yes I too, mean the animated kind. I am even OK with the movie kind...just not the teen age hanging out of the pants kind. UGH. Some years they have shown the animated shorts during the Oscars. I guess now that the program last just shy of a week, there just isn't the time.

Did you hear that the artist that did Paperman, got booted out of the award ceremony because she was up in the balcony throwing paper airplanes. I swear I heard it on the news.

Cheryl P. said...

I didn't enjoy the Oscars this year either. No surprise as you and I have the same genetic makeup of brain cells. Kristen C. was annoying the piss out of me. All the references to how small/short/tiny she is was irritating. And yes she doesn't look right.

Glad you like the comics. That was fun putting them at the Oscars.

thrown out for throwing paper airplanes - too cool. I remember throwing things from the balcony once or twice.

Dammit woman you and CP should have called me while you were out there! Morgan and I could have crashed with you two! LOL

Cheryl P. said...

You need to come up with a Jewells cartoon so I can start putting you into some of our stuff. That could be fun. OR I could go back to some of your older blogs that have pictures and try to come up with a character. Yes, that would of been fun to have you crash with us. You could of been snarky with Kristen C....and the cops.

Jewells said...

LOL...snarky with the cops...oh yeah probably, but I actually like Kristen C =) There are so many more worthy targets for my snark in the celebrity world. =)

No one needs to be subjected to my drawing prowess.... I can't draw a straight line with a ruler. It would be an atrocity to the art world if I decided to draw for public consumption. =)

Cheryl P. said...

I loved her in Wicked and everything she has done in TV series but the Oscars sucked with all the questioning about heights. UGH.

I can't draw either fortunately for Crabby Pants, I also have no pride.
